Pongal is a traditional thanks giving occasion to nature. The Pongal celebration was held in VCHSS premises along with teachers and students. Students performed various activities like folk dance, Silambam and group song during the festival. It gives a good opportunity to the students to learn about pongal festival. Our teacher made pongal by cooking rice in an earthen port at the courtyard at stove made of bricks. When the milk starts boiling and over flows people shout "pongalo-pongal".
